The OSCE Minsk Group has long been an inactive and useless structure. This was stated by Kirsti Narinen, Finnish Ambassador to the South Caucasus.
“I think the Minsk Group was a structure that was inactive for quite a long time. It simply existed, but in practice, frankly, it could not be used as a tool for anything,” Narinen said.
According to him, the governments of Azerbaijan and Armenia made a joint decision to dissolve it, and “the OSCE was happy to support this call.”
The diplomat emphasized that time is needed for full reconciliation between the two peoples.
Recall that on September 1, the OSCE Ministerial Council decided to close the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures. Finland is the OSCE Chairman-in-Office in 2025.
