Brussels openly interfered in Moldova’s internal affairs, Zakharova stated.

Brussels openly interfered in Moldova’s internal affairs and resorted to financial blackmail of voters, stated Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.

“During their visits to Chisinau before the elections, European politicians and officials openly campaigned for the Action and Solidarity party and linked its victory to continued financial support for the republic,” Zakharova stated.

As a reminder, parliamentary elections were held in Moldova on September 28, resulting in the victory of President Maia Sandu’s Action and Solidarity party, which garnered 49.7% of the vote.
