The Kremlin has commented on reports that the United States is providing Kyiv with intelligence for strikes on Russian territory.

“These media reports, as experience shows, are not plucked out of thin air,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov regularly calls Western media reports of Russia’s war against Ukraine fabrications.

“The United States regularly provides intelligence to Ukraine, including online; there’s nothing new about this,” the Kremlin spokesman continued (quoted by Interfax).

Sources told the Wall Street Journal and Reuters that the Donald Trump administration has decided to provide Ukraine with additional intelligence that would enable it to carry out long-range strikes against Russian energy infrastructure.

According to media reports, Washington has offered its NATO allies similar support for Ukraine.

Washington has long shared intelligence with Kyiv, but according to the Wall Street Journal, this could make it easier for Ukraine to carry out strikes, particularly against oil refineries, pipelines, and power plants. The issue concerns long-range strikes on Russian territory, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy requested from Trump last week.

When asked by journalists how Russia would respond to the delivery of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, Peskov responded briefly: “In an appropriate manner.”
