Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev sharply criticized French President Emmanuel Macron on the social media platform X following the resignation of Sébastien Lecornu as Prime Minister.
“Record: the French government lasted 14 hours. Because France has no president. Only a brilliant defender of Kyiv, a friend of Germany and Great Britain, a verbal arbiter of Africa. But Macron doesn’t care about France. Even our Cossack horses, who entered Paris in 1814, would have handled him better…,” he wrote.
Earlier, France 24 noted three counter-records set by resigned French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu.
First, he has the shortest tenure as French Prime Minister – just 27 days.
Le Cornouaille has lasted the longest without a government (26 days).
His government was the shortest-lived of all: Le Cornouaille resigned just twelve hours after appointing his team.
He is also the only French prime minister who has not even issued a general policy statement.
