The Human Rights Defender informed us that Archbishop Mkrtich is in the Investigative Department of the Kentron District. Lawyer Ara Zohrabyan announced this in a conversation with journalists.
He noted that he and several of his colleagues are currently on their way to see Archbishop Mkrtich. Other than the meeting location, they do not yet have any further details.
As a reminder, we previously reported that the home of Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, Primate of the Aragatsotn Diocese, was searched, after which he was taken to the Investigative Department.
Later, the Human Rights Defender reported that, at the direction of the Human Rights Defender, a rapid response team of staff members traveled to the Investigative Committee to review the status of the rights of persons deprived of their liberty and the grounds for their imprisonment.
