Today, information spread online with bewilderment that Nikol Pashinyan will again participate in the Holy Liturgy, where, most likely, the priest, fulfilling a political order, will uncanonically renounce and not mention the name of the Catholicos of All Armenians. Rumors circulated in the press that Father Ararat would celebrate the Holy Liturgy, which caused confusion. I, Father Ararat Poghosyan, declare that I will never renounce the name of Catholicos of All Armenians, and I will never unite the Homeland and faith with those who deny and divide them. My alliance with Holy Etchmiadzin and its popularly elected See is inviolable, non-negotiable, and unbreakable. In fact, the Liturgy should be celebrated by Priest Ararat Ordoyan, a minister of the Holy Trinity Church in Yerevan, who, if he dares… If anyone deviates from the liturgical canon and fails to mention the name of the Catholicos of All Armenians, then from now on the faithful will be able to address him not as “Father Ararat,” but as “Father Arabat.”
