Kazakhstan and Turkey condemn attacks on Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) infrastructure and oil pipelines in the Black Sea.

The Kazakh Foreign Ministry protested the Ukrainian attack on Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) infrastructure in the port of Novorossiysk.

“This incident is the third act of aggression against a purely civilian facility, the operation of which is guaranteed by international law,” the Kazakh Foreign Ministry stated.

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that the CPC plays an important role in maintaining the stability of the global energy system and stated that it views the incident as damaging to bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

“We expect the Ukrainian side to take effective measures to prevent similar incidents in the future,” the statement reads.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry also issued a statement regarding recent incidents in the Black Sea. The statement stated that Turkey is concerned about the attacks on the Gambian-flagged commercial tankers Kairos and Virat.

“These incidents in our exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea have created serious risks to the safety of navigation, life, property, and the environment in the region,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
