The King of Thailand has dissolved the lower house of parliament

King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand has approved a decree dissolving the country’s House of Representatives, TASS reports.

“Considering that the country is under the control of a minority government and, due to numerous political problems within the country, is unable to continuously, effectively, and stably govern the state, the most appropriate solution is to dissolve the House of Representatives and hold new general elections. This will allow political decision-making power to be returned to the people as soon as possible,” states the decree, published in the kingdom’s official gazette.
