It’s time for the European Union to negotiate with Russia, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said at the annual conference.
“Deputy Prime Minister Salvini spoke about relations between Russia and Italy in the same way Macron spoke about Europe. In this case, I think Macron is right: I believe the time has come for the EU to negotiate with Russia,” Meloni said.
As a reminder, in December 2025, Italian Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the League party Matteo Salvini spoke out against conflict with Russia and called for dialogue.
