The borders of the homeland are immutable because they are established by God. Eduard Sharmazanov, press secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia, wrote this on his Facebook page.
“State borders are fluid because they are drawn by people. The borders of the homeland neither shrink nor expand.
State borders can both shrink and expand.
The homeland of the Armenians is the Armenian Highland. The state is the Republic of Armenia. Throughout the history of the Armenian people, there have been instances of several Armenian states being formed within the Armenian homeland.
Such examples existed both in ancient times (the kingdoms of Greater Armenia, Lesser Armenia, Tsopka, etc.) and in the Middle Ages (the kingdoms of Bagratuni, Vaspurakan, Artsrun, etc.).
Just a few years ago, the Armenian people had two Armenian states: the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh.
To contrast the values of homeland and state is political ignorance.
No one can forbid me, a child of the Greek and Armenian peoples, from considering Trabzon and Van my historical homeland.
Over the course of millennia, borders…” The states created by the Armenian people have changed.
And now what? With every change in borders, the Armenian must find a new homeland.
This is absurd, isn’t it?
And in the end… even if thousands of Pashinyans come and go, Artsakh will remain the homeland of the Armenians.
P.S. The homeland lives thanks to patriotism and is destroyed by its absence. Garegin Nzhdeh.
