The US proposes that Ukraine and Russia end the Crimean War by summer: Zelenskyy
The United States proposed ending the war by early summer because they will have another priority later – the US Congressional elections.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during a meeting with journalists.
According to Zelenskyy, the Americans “are proposing that the parties end the war by early this summer and will likely exert pressure on both sides to meet this timetable.”
He added that domestic issues in the US will become even more pressing for American negotiators.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine desires that the US not withdraw from the negotiations, and the Russians also need the Americans to remain involved.
“As for the Americans, they will definitely have another priority – Congress. And we understand that they will devote all their time to domestic processes – elections, changing the mood in their society. Elections are definitely more important for them,” Zelenskyy explained.
