Today, the Baku Military Court announced the verdict against Ruben Vardanyan, who is accused in Azerbaijan of “crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, terrorism, financing terrorism, and other serious crimes.”
The court sentenced Vardanyan to 20 years in prison.
The defense and international human rights organizations claim the charges are politically motivated and false, and the trial itself is considered a violation of international law and fair trial principles.
