Satik Seyranyan Files Lawsuit Against Petros Gazaryan

Satik Seyranyan, President of the Union of Journalists, has filed a lawsuit against Petros Gazaryan. According to the Datalex system, Satik Seyranyan is demanding the court compel Petros Gazaryan to retract defamatory information.
The lawsuit stems from Petros Gazaryan’s Facebook post, in which he stated:

“Soloviev’s threat was supported by Hayk Demoyan, Satik Seyranyan, his ‘Sandzhak 24,’ Mika Badalyan, Angela Tovmasyan, and Hrant Bagratyan. Some of them attacked those who criticized Solovyov.

I’m sure they would be happy if this threat came true. And now they will join forces against Tripp.”

The plaintiff claims these statements constitute defamation, and Seyranyan is demanding that Ghazaryan retract the defamation and receive 1 million drams in defamation damages.

The lawsuit was filed with Judge Yerem Yesoyan of the Yerevan Civil Court of General Jurisdiction; a decision on whether to accept it for consideration has not yet been made.
