On February 23, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a police security officer with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, while on duty, observed more than two dozen young men assaulting another man in the area adjacent to the National Library.
Police security officers prevented further escalation by firing two warning shots into the air, in accordance with legal procedure.
Police arrested one man and took him to the Kentron District Police Station.
Efforts are underway to identify the remaining young men involved in the incident.
