Socialist Emmanuel Grégoire elected mayor of Paris

Emmanuel Grégoire, the candidate of a coalition of French left-wing parties, has won the Paris mayoral election.

This was reported on Monday by Le Figaro.

According to the election results, Grégoire received 50.52% of the vote.

His main rival, former Culture Minister Rachida Dati, a right-wing candidate, came in second with 41.52% of the vote. Third place went to Sophia Chikirou, a candidate from the far-left party “France Insubordinate,” who received approximately 8% of the vote.

Grégoire is 48 years old. From 2018 to 2024, he served as Deputy Mayor of Paris under Anne Hidalgo.
