In Perm, two women threw a Molotov cocktail at the United Russia office located on Plekhanov Street. Almost everything inside the building burned down, emergency services are currently working on the scene, and party representatives have also arrived there to assess the damage.
According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the area of the fire was 40 square meters, no one was hurt. The police detained two suspects in the incident, Ura.ru reports. Presumably, they are a mother and daughter who were allegedly promised a reward for arson.
According to Stanislav Shvetsov, head of the Perm branch of United Russia, at the time of the arson, road services were working nearby, and they called the police. “It was clear from the surveillance cameras that when they set the fire, the road or maintenance service was cleaning up here. They saw these girls with their own eyes, they ran out through the barrier. They met face to face, so to speak,” he said.
Currently, the Perm United Russia members are working remotely. They plan to return to the office only after cleaning and repairing the premises, said the first deputy secretary of United Russia in the Kama region, Vyacheslav Grigoriev.
