Prime Minister: Our main priority is Georgia’s European integration

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized that the government has important foreign policy priorities, and, naturally, he noted, the main one is Georgia’s European integration, SOVA reports.

The head of government noted that it is important to develop the country in all directions so that Georgia achieves the goal of European integration by 2030, for which, according to him, everything possible will be done.

Kobakhidze focused on economic growth in this context, and, according to him, “if the economic indicators are not appropriate, no one will accept the country into the EU.”

“We expect a reset of relations, which, as we think, will happen from the beginning of next year. We have specific commitments under the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement. Our ambitious goal is to fulfill more than 90% of these commitments in both directions by 2028.

This will ultimately ensure that Georgia achieves the final goal that we have set for ourselves for 2030, namely the full integration of our country into the European Union.

This requires the development of the country in all directions, including, in particular, economic growth. If the economic indicators are not appropriate, no one will accept the country into the EU,” Kobakhidze said.
