BBC: Biden adviser mathematician Tao becomes world record holder for IQ

US President Joe Biden’s Science and Technology Advisor Terence Tao has become the owner of the highest IQ in the world – his IQ is between 225 and 230. This is reported by the BBC Science Focus magazine.

Tao, nicknamed the “Mozart of Mathematics”, is the youngest professor at the University of California, Los Angeles. He began studying science at the university level at the age of nine, and at the age of 16 he was already working on a doctoral dissertation.

The mathematician has published over 300 scientific papers and 17 books.

In October, the journal Alcohol and Alcoholism wrote that people with a high IQ in school are more likely to become alcoholics in adulthood. This is the conclusion reached by scientists from the Southwestern Medical Center of the University of Texas. The researchers were able to establish that for every one-point increase in IQ, the likelihood of reporting moderate or excessive alcohol consumption increased by 1.6%.

On August 18, psychologists named signs that may indicate a person has a high intelligence quotient (IQ). Experts pointed to a love of reading, disorder, talking to oneself, and a nocturnal lifestyle.
