Bali: 22 International Flights Cancelled Due to Volcano Eruption

More than 20 international flights on the island of Bali have been cancelled due to the eruption of the Lewotobi volcano. This was reported by the national agency Antara, citing the general director of the Ngurah Rai Airport.

The general director said that 12 domestic and 22 international flights have been cancelled, and the airport airspace has not yet been affected by volcanic ash.

The eruption of the Lewotobi volcano began on November 4 and was accompanied by the emission of ash to a height of 2 thousand meters. It led to fires in nearby settlements. The authorities evacuated more than 10 thousand residents, 9 people died, 63 were injured. Four airports were temporarily closed.
