Five people have died in the crash of a small Cessna 206 plane in Costa Rica, one passenger is in critical condition. This was reported by the La Nación newspaper, citing rescuers from the Costa Rican Red Cross, who were able to reach the wreckage of the plane that crashed on Monday in the canton of Escazú.
They managed to find a surviving woman, who is in critical condition. When rescuers arrived at the scene of the tragedy, the 31-year-old woman was conscious.
The search team also found the bodies of five victims: two were inside the plane and three were outside. All passengers and crew members of the crashed plane were Costa Ricans.
A small Cessna 206 plane with the tail number TI-GER disappeared from radar on Monday at about 12:30 local time. There were four passengers and two pilots on board the aircraft. The aircraft was heading to the capital’s airport, but due to poor visibility, the air harbor was closed. The plane was forced to divert to an alternate airfield, but soon the connection with the control tower was lost. The wreckage of the aircraft was found in the jungle at an altitude of about 2,100 meters above sea level.
