December 2, 2024 marked the 127th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Soviet commander, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal Ivan Khristoforovich Bagramyan. The Russian Embassy in the Republic of Armenia reminds us of this significant date.
“The name of Marshal Bagramyan is forever associated with the strategic victorious battles of the Great Patriotic War: the Battle of Kursk (July-August 1943), Operation Bagration to liberate the Byelorussian SSR and parts of the Lithuanian and Latvian SSRs (June-August 1944) and the capture of Koenigsberg (April 1945).
The peoples of Russia and Armenia will never forget the contribution that I.Kh. Bagramyan made to our common Victory over German Nazism in the Great Patriotic War,” the embassy’s entry notes.
