The Constitutional Court of Georgia has rejected the claims of President Salome Zurabishvili and opposition MPs to invalidate the results of the October 26 parliamentary elections. The decision of the plenum was published on the website of the Constitutional Court on December 3. Two judges, Teimuraz Tugushi and Giorgi Kverenchkhiladze, expressed a dissenting opinion, Ekho Kavkaza reports.
“The decision is final and is not subject to appeal or review,” the court reported.
On November 19, a lawsuit was filed with the Constitutional Court on behalf of the president. The President of Georgia stated that the principle of secrecy of the ballot was violated during the elections and demanded that the results be declared unconstitutional.
