Chairman of the Georgian Dream party, former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is quitting politics and will go into business, Pirveli TV company reported citing its own sources.
“The chairman of the Georgian Dream party, according to information we have received, is going to announce that he is going to go into business.
The Dream leaders suggest that Garibashvili formally remain in the team and ask him not to make statements against the backdrop of the protests. It is unknown what decision Garibashvili will make,” Georgia Online reports.
“After his dismissal from the post of Prime Minister, Irakli Garibshvili took the post of chairman of the Georgian Dream party. However, he did not participate in the party activities and spoke only at the pre-election meetings.
Irakli Garibashvili attended the first session of the illegitimate parliament and did not appear after that. Mamuka Mdinaradze, the majority leader of the illegitimate parliament, stated that Garibashvili is going to leave the mandate.
At this stage, the party’s press service does not confirm Garibashvili’s departure,” the TV channel wrote.
