Georgian Prime Minister: US Embassy’s actions have taken on a completely comical appearance

“The specific actions of the US Embassy have taken on a completely comical appearance,” says Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, SOVA reports.

The US Embassy has been publishing posts on Facebook for several days now in response to the Prime Minister’s statements about resetting relations with the United States. On December 3, the US Embassy published a post: “don’t blame others.” To which the Georgian Prime Minister responded:

“You see that in the US, everyone is waiting for the presidential inauguration, and before that, unfortunately, there is an open attempt to leave the current administration, the new administration, the heaviest possible legacy in our country. Of course, both the current embassy and the acting ambassador are under this influence.

Again, you have nothing personal against our current ambassador, she is an extraordinary woman, but, unfortunately, she cannot resist the influence that is expressed by the current administration. We really hope that after January 20, Madam Ambassador will also be freed from this influence.

As you can see, the embassy’s specific actions have become completely comical. They publish “cards” on the embassy website. Because of this, Robin Dunnigan was jokingly called Robin “Cardigan”. This is, of course, a joke. It is a harmless joke based on the fact that the word “cardigan” in Georgian means jacket.

All this, of course, is a violation of the Vienna Convention. Once these “cards” were used to interfere in elections, to influence the results of elections, and now they are used to facilitate other processes. The worst thing is that these “cards” are created against the background of ongoing systematic brutal violence, and, of course, these “cards” will also be perceived by these people as a green light for violence.

I hope that from January 20, the ambassador and the entire embassy will be freed from the influence that is leading the embassy’s activities in the wrong direction,” Kobakhidze said.
