Mohammad al-Bashir announced that he was appointed head of the transitional government of Syria, Al Arabiya reported Tuesday. He will hold this office until March 1, 2025.
Since January 2024, al-Bashir heads the Syrian Salvation Government, which was formed in Idlib by the Islamist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham coalition. He is considered to be among the close of the leader of this group, Abu Mohammad al-Julani (Ahmed al-Sharaa).
