Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen has spoken out against a quick solution to the conflict in Ukraine. She said this in an interview with RND.
“Trump and his team must understand that negotiations with Russia are not only about Ukraine, but also about the security architecture of Europe as a whole. We must make it clear to Trump’s team: there can be no quick deal with Putin, only a long process lasting several years, at the end of which a stable peace will be established,” she said.
The Finnish Foreign Minister added that peace can only be achieved through pressure.
In addition, she called on Europe to learn to demonstrate force in order to maintain peace in the future.
The Wall Street Journal wrote that Trump instructed his special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg to achieve an end to the Ukrainian conflict within 100 days.
