Armenia is moving to the West, often to the detriment of its national interests, for example, by withdrawing from cooperation with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). This was stated by Dmitry Masyuk, Deputy Director of the Fourth Department of the CIS Countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“We feel the destructive influence of Westerners in Armenia. To our deep regret, this South Caucasian republic does not really resist these changes and continues to move to the West, often to the detriment of its national interests. A specific example is Yerevan’s withdrawal from cooperation with the CSTO,” Masyuk said, TASS reports.
He noted that this organization has great potential for ensuring stability in the region.
