Boris Johnson: Churchill Wouldn’t Have Minced His Words for Trump

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is confident that one of the country’s former leaders, Winston Churchill, would have acted in the same way as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is acting now. According to European Pravda, he made this statement during a special meeting in Kyiv organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

“Churchill would have acted in the same way as Zelensky. And he would not have minced his words in front of Trump,” Johnson is convinced.

He also criticized Donald Trump’s statements about Ukraine’s guilt at the beginning of the war.

“By this logic, the Americans provoked the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor,” he says ironically.

Johnson admits that the current US policy “runs counter to the course of supporting Ukraine.”

“The reality that the Americans are offering – I cannot accept it, because I have a heart. In particular, we are talking about the deal on mineral resources,” he explains.

However, Johnson understands Trump’s demands that Ukraine should compensate for the support it has provided. In particular, he recalled that Great Britain stopped paying American Lend-Lease, which was provided during World War II, only in 2006.

Also, in his opinion, the key goal of President Trump’s actions is “increasing the involvement of Europeans.”

“We must be realistic, but we must develop our own solutions. In particular, he is not against peacekeepers on Ukrainian soil – so let’s do it,” Boris Johnson sums up.
