Axios: Trump’s Advisers Are Working on an Impeachment Strategy

Advisers to US President Donald Trump are working on an impeachment strategy, which could be possible next year if Democrats gain control of the House of Representatives, Axios reports.

“Advisers to President Trump are seriously considering the possibility that he could be subjected to impeachment proceedings again if Democrats gain a majority in the House of Representatives next year,” the portal’s website says.

The House is currently under Republican control, but there are already signals that Democrats may want to launch the process. In particular, this is evidenced by Thanedar’s initiative.

On the one hand, Democrats feel pressure from voters who want them to more decisively oppose Trump. On the other hand, some political strategists believe that a more moderate position will help Democrats win the trust of centrist swing voters who preferred Trump in 2024.

Earlier, US Democratic Congressman Sri Thanedar said he had introduced a resolution to impeach Trump on seven counts, including “tyrannical abuse of power.” The Axios portal noted that this is the first attempt this year by a Democratic legislator from the House of Representatives to impeach the president or a member of his administration. However, the portal pointed out that Thanedar is unlikely to achieve anything given that Congress is controlled by Republicans.
