Relatives of Tigran and Arman, arrested in the murder of 15-year-old Ruben Rubenyan on November 8, 2024, in Artashat, are holding a protest in front of the government building, claiming the investigation is one-sided and incomplete.
They note that they have no complaints about the court, but they do have serious concerns about the preliminary investigation.
“We have no complaints about the judge at all. Today, we have complaints about the investigation by our Investigative Committee: incomplete and one-sided,” said one of the protesters, adding that their main demand is a fair and complete investigation.
According to him, the investigator concealed the real shooter. “The investigator concealed the real shooter; he’s conducting a one-sided investigation. Everyone on our side was questioned, but only one person on their side was questioned.”
The relatives note that they cannot say with certainty who this investigator is or what his connections are. “We don’t know who he is or what advantages he has. One says he has inside connections, another says he’s close to the leadership, but we don’t need that… Our investigator sits in his room and says the video is bad, there are no faces, but he accuses six people at once.”
The relatives also offer their version of the incident, noting that their side did not commit any premeditated actions. “Our brother called: ‘Come out, let’s talk.’ Our people went with clear heads, wanting to make peace, not fight.”
