Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will head the Russian delegation at the G20 summit, which will be held in Brazil on November 18-19. He has planned a number of meetings as part of the event. This was announced at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
He noted that Lavrov will speak at the plenary session and hold a number of bilateral meetings.
Zakharova noted that the meeting of leaders will open with the launch of a global alliance to combat hunger and poverty.
“This is the main initiative of the President of Brazil. This temporary coordination mechanism is designed to find a way out of problematic issues of international cooperation in the field of food security. Russia intends to announce its accession to the alliance at the summit,” he added.
