The son of US President Donald Trump Jr. is suspected of shooting rare ducks in the Venetian Lagoon in northern Italy, the newspaper La Repubblica reported.
According to members of the regional council of the Veneto region, in one video he shows the “catch” after hunting in a protected area, the newspaper writes.
According to La Repubblica, it may be about hunting for a red-breasted goose, which is extremely rare in Europe. The video was posted on the specialized website “Global Hunting for Adventure”. Trump Jr. was in Venice in December 2024, the newspaper clarifies.
At the same time, Luana Zanella, a deputy from the opposition Alliance of Greens and the Left, demanded that Environment Minister Gilberto Pichetto-Fratin report to parliament on the incident. She recalled that the shooting of protected bird and animal species in Italy is punishable by law. Hunting in the Venetian Lagoon is prohibited for non-residents of Italy.
