The United States’ deal with Ukraine on its rare earth elements could be worth $1 trillion. This was stated by US President Donald Trump in a conversation with reporters at the White House.
“This is a very big deal. This could be a $1 trillion deal,” the American leader emphasized, speaking about the agreement between Washington and Kyiv on Ukrainian minerals.
“We spent $350 billion [on aid to Ukraine]. Europe will get its money back, because they sent it as a loan, and we just gave them 300 or 350 billion, no one really knows. They can’t even answer this question for me, but most likely this [amount] is more. So now we say we want this money back. “We helped the country deal with a very big problem, a problem that very few people had, that should not have happened, because it should not have happened, but it did, so we have to fix it, but now the American taxpayer will get their money back,” the US president said.
Trump admitted that Volodymyr Zelensky plans to go to Washington on February 28 to sign the agreement. According to local media, the document does not mention security guarantees for Ukraine, which were one of the conditions for concluding the deal on the part of Kyiv.
