On December 3, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received Renzo Karamachi, Mayor of Bolzano (Italy), and scientists from the Euroc Research Center in Italy, accompanied by Mrs. Heghine Bisharyan, Rector of the European University of Armenia, at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mrs. Bisharyan, introducing the guests, conveyed to His Holiness information about the close cooperation that has developed between the University and the EURAC Research Center.
Welcoming the guests’ visit to the Armenian Spiritual Center, His Holiness touched upon the mission of Holy Etchmiadzin, emphasizing the important role of Christianity in the life of the Armenian people and in the creation of spiritual and cultural heritage.
The Catholicos of All Armenians expressed gratitude to the EURAC Research Center and the European University for the efforts invested in the field of education in Armenia.
His Holiness also spoke about the close relations and cooperation between the Armenian Church and the Roman Catholic Church.
During the conversation, the Armenian Patriarch touched upon the security issues facing Armenia, as well as the overt threats and coercion from Azerbaijan, noting the support of the international community and friendly countries to our people.
In turn, the Mayor of Bolzano Renzo Karamachi shared his impressions of Armenia, noting that the Armenian shrines are evidence of the powerful faith of the Armenian people. In this regard, the mayor expressed confidence that the Armenians will be able to overcome all difficulties and trials thanks to their strong faith.
