369 aid workers killed in Gaza since October 2023: UN

At least 369 humanitarian workers have been killed in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, according to a report by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied Palestinian territories.

According to the organization, 263 staff members of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) were among the victims. “Israeli air, land and sea bombings, as well as explosions of residential buildings, continue to be reported across the Gaza Strip, causing further civilian casualties, displacement and destruction of civilian infrastructure. Rocket fire into Israel by Palestinian armed groups has also been reported,” the report says.

The UN office also drew attention to the problem of depleted fuel supplies for power generators in hospitals in the Gaza Strip, which “puts the lives of patients, including newborn babies, at serious risk.”
