A police lieutenant colonel called on Artsakh residents photographed in Kornidzor with Artsakh in the background to “go and surrender, and thus satisfy their anguish.”

Artsakh lawyer Roman Yeritsyan presented another case of incitement to hatred against Artsakh residents on Facebook.

The lawyer notes that several days ago, several young people from Artsakh, working on construction in the villages of Tegh and Goris, went to Kornidzor and took photos with the Hakari Bridge and Artsakh in the background.

“They took a few photos, a video… the reason was to satisfy their anguish,” the lawyer notes, explaining that on the way back, they were stopped by NSS officers, their phones confiscated, effectively preventing them from contacting their lawyer. About an hour or two later, they were taken to the police station for administrative punishment, but were given only a warning and no fine.

“It is important to note that one high-ranking police officer inquired about the reason for the photo.” The men responded that they were simply satisfying their need by taking a photo with Artsakh in the background. In response, the lieutenant colonel said, “Well, if you were satisfying your need, then go and surrender, and then go home and satisfy your need.” This policeman will sooner or later be held legally accountable for his hate speech, discrimination, and baseness,” stated Roman Yeritsyan.
