A protest took place outside the Armenian Embassy in Moscow.

Dozens of people protested outside the Armenian Embassy in Moscow against Nikol Pashinyan’s actions, SHOT reports. This occurred after Armenian authorities found Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhian guilty of calling for a coup d’état.

The protesters held signs with slogans such as “The Church is the soul, not the opposition,” “Hands off holiness,” and others. Some carried Armenian flags. The demonstrators demanded that the Armenian authorities release Ajapakhian.

Yesterday, an Armenian court found Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhian guilty of calling for a coup d’état. He is currently in custody. He faces up to five years in prison. Earlier, Pashinyan publicly accused Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II of violating his vow of celibacy and demanded his resignation.
