In Burbank, USA, at St. Ghevondets Church, located near the diocese of the Western American Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, a group of believers is holding a rally in support of the Armenian Church and His Holiness after the service for the second Sunday in a row.
Last Sunday, a minor incident occurred when the diocese responded rudely, calling the protesters deluded.
The protesters are holding signs with photographs of Karekin II and the slogans “No to Nikol’s reforms. STOP,” “We are the church, your hands have turned away from His Holiness,” “No to the schism of the church,” and the name of the head of the diocese, Archbishop Hovnan Terterian, a traitor.
One of the protesters stated that he had come to support His Holiness in reciting a prayer not recited in the Ghevondak church. It should be noted that the diocese’s head of the church made no mention of any criminal prosecution against His Holiness in his speech.
