Aptera Motors has announced the creation of a revolutionary electric car that runs entirely on solar energy and does not require a network connection for charging. This car, called PI2, has already passed initial tests, Techkult reports.
Aptera PI2 can travel up to 1,600 kilometers depending on the selected battery. If necessary, the electric car can be connected to the network. Aptera is not just a “green” car, it can accelerate to 100 km / h in just 4 seconds, which is comparable in dynamics to such models as the Chevrolet Corvette C6 or Audi RS3.
The secret of the PI2’s success is in the lightweight design and aerodynamics of the body, as well as the use of 700 W solar batteries. Aptera is already accepting pre-orders. The cost of the new product in the minimum configuration starts from $ 30,700, “at maximum settings” the model is offered for purchase for $ 51,500.
