The Yak-130 military aircraft of Vietnam’s ROU crashed in the central province of Bindin, the two pilots of the aircraft are considered missing. VnExpress news portal informed about this. The incident took place at the Phu Quoc Air Base during the exercises conducted by the 940th Aviation Regiment of the Vietnam People’s Army Air Force on Wednesday, the source said, referring to the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic.
The crew, Colonel Nguyen Van Shon and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, were making a training flight. When returning to the base after completing the mission, the pilots noticed that the landing gear did not open. Having informed the command of the regiment, the crew received permission to eject.
Currently, a search and rescue operation is being carried out in Bindin province to determine the location of the crashed plane and to find the two pilots.
