The last time I attended a government meeting was on July 17, and first of all, I want to congratulate all of us on the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which took place on August 8 as a result of the declaration signed in Washington. I also want to express my gratitude to everyone for the work done during this period. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a government meeting on August 21.
He noted that their work does not end with this result, but, on the contrary, begins.
“There is such a phenomenon: when an issue is put on the agenda or on the table that is not constantly resolved, this issue continues to remain on the agenda. Figuratively speaking, if you take this issue, it is resolved, as a result of its resolution, another 10 issues arise that need to be resolved, and so on. And this is normal, logical, and this is how development happens, that is, you solve a problem, as a result of which new questions arise,” Pashinyan said, adding that there is a lot of work ahead, but it is important to emphasize that this is constructive, peaceful, creative work, and one must be as focused on it as possible.
Speaking about contacts with the public, the Prime Minister noted that being a politician in a democratic country is a public activity, where public communication is of key importance.
“Our citizens must understand what we are doing, why we are doing it, what is not working and what is the reason, what is working and what is the result of all this, because even in the case of the greatest achievements, it is impossible or problematic if the origins of these successes are not clear to the public: what, why, how it happened, and what are the subtexts, contexts, motivations that lead to such situations, such results,” Nikol Pashinyan added.
He added that in the near future, government members, especially political representatives, should pay more attention to public communication, conveying to citizens the nuances, goals, texts, subtexts and contexts of their work.
