Aliyev understands perfectly well that the Artsakh issue has not been resolved and is not closed. Voskanyan on the TASS publication. Baku responded

Russia also continues to deal very painful blows to the barbaric regime in Baku in the propaganda sphere. Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan wrote about this.

“Various Russian media outlets touch on the artificiality of Azerbaijan, the assimilation policy carried out against indigenous peoples, the vulnerabilities of the so-called Azerbaijani identity, etc.

But in addition to all this, the Baku dictator considers Russian talk about the Armenians of Artsakh, which are quite actively circulating, to be the most dangerous and painful, since he also understands perfectly well that the Artsakh issue has not been resolved and is not closed. In short, today’s material from the Russian state news agency TASS is not about some unknown “Khankendi”, but about Stepanakert,” Voskanyan wrote.

Recall that yesterday, the Russian President’s Special Representative for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi told TASS that the dismantling of the Aivazovsky monument in Nagorno-Karabakh was regrettable and deeply unacceptable.

“The actions of the Azerbaijani side to dismantle the monument to the world-famous Russian artist Aivazovsky in Karabakh are regrettable,” he said.

He stressed that Moscow was not informed about the plans to demolish this monument, and expressed confidence that otherwise the issue would have been resolved in a civilized manner.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova also spoke out about the demolition of the Aivazovsky monument, erected in Artsakh in 2021 with the participation of Russian peacekeepers, publishing photographs of Aivazovsky’s paintings on a social network.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, in turn, issued a statement claiming that the installation of the bust of the marine artist by Russian peacekeepers was carried out without Baku’s consent and is “illegal.” Official Baku also demanded that the state agency TASS apologize for using the Armenian toponym Stepanakert, threatening otherwise to take measures against TASS activities in Azerbaijan in accordance with the law.

It should be noted that since then, the TASS agency has changed the Armenian name of Stepanakert, and the word “Stepanakert” is absent from the publication.
