On April 23, an official memorial event dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was held on Place Montmartre near the City Hall in the 15th arrondissement of Paris.
The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of the 15th arrondissement of Paris Philippe Goujon, the First Secretary of the Armenian Embassy in France, Consul Liana Ghukasyan, members of the city council, representatives of the French Armenian community, who laid wreaths in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
The national anthems of Armenia and France were also played at the end of the event.
Recall that this year marks the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
Every year on April 24, a mourning procession of hundreds of thousands of Armenians silently moves to the Armenian Genocide Memorial, laying flowers in memory of the estimated 1.5 million victims.
