Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a telephone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky that Ankara is ready to fully facilitate high-level contacts between Ukraine and Russia. This was reported by Erdogan’s office after the conversation.
“The conversation was devoted to bilateral relations between Turkey and Ukraine, the peace process between Ukraine and Russia, as well as regional and global issues. Our president said that a fair settlement of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict is possible, that negotiations between the parties should continue, and that Turkey is ready to do everything possible to facilitate high-level contacts that will pave the way for peace,” the office reported.
Erdogan also said that he was “closely following the contacts (between Russia and the US) in Alaska and (between the US, Ukraine and Europe) in Washington, that Turkey continues its efforts to end the war and establish a lasting peace and will continue to contribute to Ukraine’s security after peace is established.”
