Apple has introduced a new iPad mini tablet with the A17 Pro chip (the same one used in the penultimate iPhone 15 model) and artificial intelligence (AI) functions. This is the first update to the mini tablet line since 2021.
The screen size of the device is 8.3 inches, the rear camera is 12 megapixels with support for Smart HDR 4 technology.
Apple’s message says that the A17 Pro chip has increased the performance of the device by 30% (the company is probably comparing it with the previous generation of the mini series – the absolute values of the device’s performance are not mentioned in the message). The new tablet has a hexa-core processor.
The message specifically emphasizes the integration of AB functions into the device and the operating system. The tablet has support for Apple Intelligence functions, such as Writing Tools, which will help you write and edit texts or the ability to create videos from photos.
The device has support for the Apple Pencil Pro stylus. The base model has 128 GB of built-in memory.
Pre-orders for the device have already begun in the US and will go on sale on Wednesday. The price will start from 499 dollars.
The Verge notes that the new product was introduced in a “slightly discreet” way, just posting a message on the website, without a show-presentation.
