The court imposed certain restrictions on Archbishop Arshak, lawyer Ruben Melikyan told reporters.
“The court imposed administrative control, as well as territorial restrictions. Archbishop Arshak is prohibited from leaving the Vagharshapat community and from contacting active witnesses,” Ruben Melikyan said.
Regarding the public statement, Melikyan stated that he saw nothing about it in the court’s decision, and therefore such a restriction does not apply to him.
“It’s not that we are satisfied with this decision; we have insisted from the outset that there is no reasonable doubt. The actions described in the indictment and the article being applied here are completely unrelated,” Ruben Melikyan said.
