Archbishop Michael filed an appeal with the European Court

Archbishop Michael filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights through his lawyers, alleging a violation of his rights guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights.
The complaint presents facts and arguments regarding the illegal detention of Archbishop Mikhail (article 5), violation of freedom of expression (article 10), as well as deprivation of liberty and criminal prosecution for political purposes (article 18).
The session of the Criminal Court of Appeal (judges: E. Manasyan, N. Hovakimyan and V. Margaryan, Yerevan, building named after G. Nzhde, 23) continues today, 06.02.2026, at 15:00. The decision of the Appellate Court on consideration of the petition to change the preventive measure will be published.
The court session is open to the public.
