The parliamentary powers of Aren Mkrtchyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, have been terminated.
“Based on the deputy’s resignation application and guided by the requirements of Article 154, Part 1, Clause 6 and Article 155, Part 2, Clause 2 of the Constitutional Law “Regulations of the National Assembly”, the parliamentary powers of Aren Mkrtchyan, a member of parliament elected from the national electoral list of the Civil Contract party, have been terminated,” reads the protocol signed by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan.
Recall that Aren Mkrtchyan announced his continuation of his activities as the governor of Lori region.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters that Aren Mkrtchyan would be appointed governor of Lori.
