Armenia embassy in Syria urges compatriots living in Aleppo, surrounding areas to refrain from travel if possible

The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia (RA) in Syria issued a statement informing that the + 963 96 000 36 22 hotline has been established in the embassy to assist Armenians.

“Currently, the lists of whose [Armenian] passports are ready are being determined. There are passport cases that are still being prepared and are in Armenia. Opportunities are being sought to deliver the existing passports to their recipients. Once the situation stabilizes a little, the consulate will contact the recipients and inform them where and how they can get their passports.

At the moment, organized evacuation is impossible. We urge our compatriots living in Aleppo and its surroundings to refrain from travel as much as possible /only if necessary/, and completely exclude attempts to leave the city at this time.

Those compatriots who have applied for RA citizenship but have not yet received their passports and Syrian citizens of Armenian nationality who want to travel to Armenia can apply to the RA embassies in Damascus or Beirut and receive RA entry permits/visas/ in a simplified manner.

The RA consul general in Aleppo is currently stationed at the RA embassy in Damascus and continues his work from the embassy in emergency mode,” the statement added.
