At the Cabinet session of the government of Armenia on Wednesday, a decision was adopted, which made changes and additions to the procedures for providing social assistance to persons forcibly displaced from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia.
These changes relate to government decisions to provide social assistance to cover the living and subsistence expenses of these displaced persons.
Taking into account the fact that a certain period of time will be required to discuss proposals on improving the approved social programs for families forcibly displaced from Artsakh, it has become necessary to provide the assistance being provided within the framework of the decision for two months to all other forcibly displaced persons outside the target groups, while simultaneously postponing for two months the operation of the program for providing additional social assistance based on need.
This social assistance will be implemented within the framework of the 2025 state budget of Armenia—but without additional budgetary expense.
It about the monthly support program of 50,000 drams (approx. US$130) for each family member.
